A Year Ago Today 3/10/09

Andrea brought me to New York City, just because. I had never been to New York before but it was everything I’d hoped it would be.

One night we decided to go to a Hindu temple for a 7 o’ clock service, but when we got there the gentlemen at the front told us it wouldn’t be starting until eight. So, naturally, we decided to go have a drink while we waited. There was a tiny bar right across the street and since it was unbearably cold for me we just ducked right inside there and sat in a booth in the very back, farthest from the cold. Then we found out it was happy hour, which for Andrea, might as well be a sign from above, if you will. We ended up drinking whiskey and cokes and telling hilarious life stories to each other for hours, making it one of the simplest, happiest nights of my life. Then, stumbling “home” to our hotel (”somewhere in Chinatown” — we were actually trying to spot Asians to follow so we could try to get back), we made a pit stop at a falafel place and chowed down. At the time, their trashcan seemed hilarious to us… see for yourself:

&& A couple photos from that trip…
